Adventure + neuroscience = smarter happier and more attractive!
I thought I knew adventure. While I feel I know the practical sides very well and the outcomes are incredibly rewarding, I can’t positively identify exactly why. It definitely makes me happy, and not just me, our clients constantly affirm this as well. I could go on for hours about the reasons to do something different. But let’s look at the facts.
“Why adventures are so good for us…”
It turns out, not only does adventuring make you interesting, in a sort of swashbuckling outdoorsy kind of way, but it makes your smarter, more productive at work (!!!!) and more attractive to the opposite sex.” David Eagleman – American neuroscientist.
“Travel broadens the mind, but really it sharpens it. A psychological study conducted at Indiana University found that by merely imagining we’re on an adventure, we improve our creativity and self-awareness.”
This was pulled from a recent Redbull story I read.
What does all this mean? Our working hours should officially be 9-5, right? But we live in a modern world; we are always switched on, 24/7, 7 days a week, email, social media, it’s relentless. Ultimately, adventure is good! Getting outdoors, switching off and rebooting, clears and expands the mind, body and soul!
Dr. Robertson’s prescription, (yep, me, not a real Doc..) “Get outside and do something different” – Two Momentum adventures a year should do it!!
