People in Rwanda are not what you’d expect. The country is quite modern and since the country went through its rough patch in the early 1990’s, things have changed. Did you know that there is a higher percentage of women in Parliament in Rwanda than in any other country in the world?
The larger cities are well-organized, safe and would make anyone feel at home–you’ll easily find shopping, dining and plenty to see and do. Because the history was so rough, the people today are focused on a sleek and modern future.
While the cities are appealing, most people come to Rwanda because they want to experience something they cannot find anywhere else. The rainforests are absolutely amazing. You’ll find over a dozen primates in these remote areas as well as plenty of other plant and wildlife. One of the best-known animals in Rwanda and Africa as a whole is the Mountain Gorilla. Whether you’ve seen them in movies or on TV, there is nothing more amazing than witnessing them in person, in their natural habitat. In fact, these amazing animals share up to 98% of the same DNA that we do!!
There is a lot to see and do in Rwanda. I encourage you to look at how this country is moving forward. I’m sure you’ll realize that the future is bright and it is well worth a visit. We know you’ll love it when you’re exploring–you’ll get the feeling that Rwanda is almost a “second home.”
